The Secretary General of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, expressed her support on Tuesday for the President of the Valencian Government, Carlos Mazón, after stating that he will not voluntarily testify as a suspect in the case opened by the head of the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 3 of Catarroja, while defending that the Valencian Government is already offering its "cooperation with the Justice".
She stated this in an interview on Telecinco collected by Servimedia, which took place simultaneously with Mazón's first statements following the decision of Judge Nuria Ruiz to charge Salomé Pradas, former Minister of Justice and Emergencies during the tragedy, and Emilio Argüeso, former regional secretary of that department, for alleged crimes of homicide and injuries due to negligence in the management of the dana.
At the same time, she rejected summoning Mazón as a suspect, "without prejudice to him requesting it" voluntarily. Gamarra left the decision in his hands. "What is voluntary will be part of the decisions that the President of the Generalitat has to make," she said initially.

The Secretary General of the PP, however, listened live to Mazón's first reaction, who ruled out voluntarily testifying in court, expressed his "respect" for the judicial process, and showed willingness to deepen "collaboration." Gamarra endorsed his words. "He has been clear and has already conveyed what he thinks and what he is going to do, and the key is respect for Justice and collaboration," she said before focusing on the central government.
In any case, Gamarra emphasized that this is only "the beginning of a judicial process" and believes that "there are many issues on which there are still many proceedings to be done." In this regard, she considers that "the responsibility" of the central government for the lack of hydraulic works "or some other issues" should also be clarified in the course of this entire judicial investigation.
With all this, she predicted a "very long" judicial process due to "the complexity of what happened," and tried to convey "calm" to the victims due to the Valencian Government's willingness to cooperate. She recalled that Mazón reshuffled his Executive months ago with "political consequences," including the dismissal of Pradas.
