Summer Arrives Early in Alicante with Temperatures Reaching 35º This Weekend

Summer is officially 20 days away, yet it feels like the season has already begun in Alicante province. "High values for this time of year" were recorded this Saturday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), and are expected to continue this Sunday.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 29º in Alicante and Dénia, 32º in Elche, 33º in Alcoi, and 35º in Orihuela. Generally, Aemet forecasts clear or slightly cloudy skies in the province, with minimum temperatures slightly rising and maximums remaining stable. Winds will be light and variable, shifting to southeast by midday, with moderate intervals on the northern coast.

This climatic situation has led the Generalitat's Emergency Coordination Centre to declare a pre-emergency level for high forest fire risk in the interior of Castellón and Valencia provinces and northern Alicante, with low-medium risk in the rest of the Valencian Community.
