SUMA's new tax office reopened its doors this Wednesday in the Carrús neighbourhood following renovations carried out by the Diputación de Alicante. The main goal was to enhance its functionality and sustainability, as well as to strengthen digital technologies to improve service efficiency.

The inauguration was attended by the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz; the President of the Diputación de Alicante, Toni Pérez; and the Director of SUMA, José Antonio Belso, among other officials. Ruz expressed gratitude to the Diputación, particularly its president, for "his commitment to Elche with the investment in this SUMA office, one of the largest in the province, designed primarily for workers and users."

The new SUMA office in Elche-Carrús spans 335 square metres. The renovation, budgeted at 400,000 euros, has introduced a much more innovative design with a novel space distribution.

In this regard, the public service area has been doubled, accessibility to the facilities has been improved both internally and externally, and climate control has been enhanced for greater efficiency. Tactile flooring for visually impaired individuals has been installed, and office areas have been included to provide rest or meeting spaces for workers.

The tax office's initiative aims to strengthen in-person service; place citizens at the centre of attention with universal accessibility as an integrating core; create functional and intelligent spaces and facilities; and commit to sustainability, integration, and transparency, reaffirming social responsibility. It seeks to create more pleasant and sensitive spaces for workers, promote integration into the environment, and optimise infrastructure use.

The Carrús office is one of the largest in the province, and its renovation is part of SUMA's Strategic Plan, which includes the refurbishment of all 46 offices in the province, representing an investment of around 10 million euros.

"This is the first completed office of SUMA's strategic plan for adapting and renewing its spaces, a renovation with a new format of maximum accessibility and focus on people," stated the President of the Diputación, Toni Pérez, who also confirmed that it will resume service next week.
