Renfe's Avlo, the low-cost train service in the Valencian Community, has seen a 53% increase in passengers during the first six months of operation of the S106 trains compared to the same period last year. The company recorded 912,400 passengers on its 'low cost' services for the Madrid-Valencia and Madrid-Alicante routes in this semester.

November 21 marked six months since the launch of the Alvo S106, new high-capacity trains with 504 seats per train, significantly boosting the company's low-cost high-speed offerings for the region.

In this semester, the number of passengers on these low-cost trains with origin or destination at the high-speed stations in the Valencian Community reached 912,400, representing a 53% increase compared to the May-November period of 2023.

The significant renewal of Renfe's high-speed fleet this year with the S106 trains resulted in the replacement of the series 112 with the new S106 units for Avlo services on both corridors. This change led to a notable increase in seats on the 'low cost' trains for Alicante and Valencia, which has now been supported by passenger numbers.
