Heavy rainfall from the storm that hit the province this weekend is becoming increasingly evident. In addition to the cancellation of carnival activities in various parts of the region, the first data on water accumulation from precipitation in Marina Alta has been reported.

La Vall d'Ebo and La Vall de la Gallinera are the two municipalities that have recorded the highest figures on Sunday so far. According to data from the Valencian Meteorological Agency (Avamet), the former has already exceeded 150 litres per square metre in the last 12 hours, while the latter has surpassed 100 l/m2.

Pego, Sagra, l'Orxa, Orba, and La Vall de Laguar are other municipalities in Marina Alta that have recorded more than 50 litres per square metre this Sunday.

These heavy rains do not come as a surprise to the residents. At the start of the carnival weekend, the UA Climatology Laboratory warned of a new storm, and the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and Emergencies of the Generalitat declared a yellow alert. This warning, according to the state agency's forecast, will remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. this Sunday.

The Provincial Fire Consortium of the Alicante Provincial Council has announced that, so far, it has not had to take any action due to the heavy rainfall recorded in different parts of the northern coast of Alicante.

Meanwhile, Emergencies 112 CV recommends "extreme vigilance and safety," as well as paying attention to the warnings issued throughout the day.
