A few hours remain before Storm Garoé reaches Alicante. The phenomenon will mainly affect the north and west of the peninsula, but its effects will be felt in the province.

The State Meteorological Agency has confirmed a change in the weather due to this storm. Its entry into the peninsula is attributed to the displacement of the European anticyclone, according to the Miteco agency.

This phenomenon has caused the Atlantic storm Garoé to approach the Iberian Peninsula with intensity this Monday. It will arrive with southwesterly winds, warm and humid.

These gusts will end the frosts experienced over the weekend in Alicante, with snow in the mountains and inland municipalities of the province.

The arrival of Garoé will cause minimum temperatures to rise, leaving behind the scenario experienced over the weekend with minus six degrees in some parts of Alicante.

Similarly, the snow level will rise, focusing on the highest parts of the mountains.

Storm Garoé will also end the clear skies that Alicante province enjoyed over the weekend. Clouds will return to cover the sky, leading to widespread precipitation.

Aemet has forecast rain in the province of Alicante during the afternoon of this Monday, in the coming hours. These will subside from Thursday onwards.

Weather in the province of Alicante

Minimum temperatures are rising, with six degrees this Monday. The average will decrease as clouds advance with the intention of pouring over the city of Alicante between tonight and Tuesday morning.

Temperatures will rise in the coming days with minimums of 10 degrees, as southwesterly winds advance. By the weekend, thermometers are expected to reach maximums of 21 degrees.

In Alcoi, the outlook is similar. Southwesterly winds will arrive this Monday with a rise in temperatures. The sky will cover to bring showers in the coming hours, intending to remain this Tuesday.

In the case of Dénia, winds come from the south, according to Aemet. These will also cause a rise in temperatures and the arrival of clouds. Precipitation will be noticeable this Tuesday.

Meanwhile, in Orihuela, winds will change direction to enter from the southwest. Minimums will rise from three degrees this Monday to seven on Tuesday, when showers are expected. Clouds will cover the sky in the coming hours.
