The Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor and the Stellantis group are modifying their roadmap and ruling out joint manufacturing in Poland of the T03 and B10 models, according to sources from the group confirmed to Europa Press.

Without making specific comments on the matter, the same sources only clarify that the production of the T03 at the Polish plant in Tychy "continues as planned" without mentioning the future of the B10 production.

However, several media outlets point to the possibility that the joint venture between both manufacturers is considering production alternatives at the Eisenach factory (Germany), where Stellantis produces Opel models, or the Slovak plant in Trnava.

These possible changes come to light after it was revealed on October 24 that China is pressuring its local automakers to halt their expansion in the European Union amid a tariff crisis with Brussels over electric vehicles.

Among other firms, Dongfeng, which was expected, according to industry sources confirmed to Europa Press, to announce the establishment of a car factory in Italy in early October, has decided to halt all its operations in response to its government's warnings.

Meanwhile, MG (SAIC Motor), which was to announce at the end of September where to locate its factory in the Old Continent, has not yet disclosed its future plans.

Furthermore, Chongqing Changan Automobile, a state-owned car manufacturer, recently canceled the launch event of its brand in Europe, and in this context, Chery postponed until October 2025 its intention to start manufacturing electric vehicles at the Ebro Factory plant in Barcelona, waiting to see how tariff negotiations unfold.

However, BYD is moving forward with its plans to build a factory in Hungary to help circumvent EU tariffs. At the same time, it is considering setting up another plant with an investment of over 900 million in Europe in Turkey.
