Psicológica, a spin-off from the Science Park of Miguel Hernández University (UMH) in Elche, and Magno International School have recently signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting child and adolescent mental health and fostering socio-emotional skills within the school environment.
The collaboration outlines a roadmap that includes specialized mental health advice, continuous training for teaching staff, and the creation of educational materials tailored for early detection and intervention in emotional issues.
A key focus of the agreement is the implementation of socio-emotional skills programs, notably Super Skills, an intervention designed to enhance emotional regulation, empathy, and conflict resolution among students, all supported by scientific evidence.
Magno International School will actively participate in applied research, integrating the learnings and outcomes into its pedagogical model, with an approach centred on the comprehensive well-being of students.
"This collaboration allows us to transfer scientific knowledge to the school environment, creating a real impact on the emotional well-being of children and adolescents," highlighted José Pedro Espada, director of Psicológica. Meanwhile, the school's director, Rosa María Tortosa, emphasized "the importance of having expert support to promote an education that also addresses the emotional dimension of students."
With this initiative, Psicológica strengthens its commitment to the social transfer of knowledge and consolidates its network of collaborations with educational centres in the province, focusing on evidence-based interventions aimed at both students and their families.
Psicológica is a spin-off promoted by UMH professors and researchers Mireia Orgilés and José Pedro Espada. The company focuses on the psychological treatment of mental health issues. Among its programs, it highlights attention to families and adolescents with emotional problems and disorders, and the dissemination of evidence-based interventions for the psychological treatment of these issues.
