La spin-off Psicologica from the Miguel Hernández University Science Park (PCUMH) in Elche has expanded its network of specialised mental health care with the opening of a new healthcare service in the town of Aspe (Alicante). This new facility is the result of a collaboration agreement with the Santías Medical Centre, whereby Psicologica assumes full management of psychological services at the centre.
The initiative aims to facilitate access to evidence-based psychological interventions, focusing on a model of care centred on prevention, early intervention, and personalised therapeutic support. This alliance represents a strategic advancement in the transfer of academic knowledge to the clinical field, strengthening the link between psychological research and its practical application.
The new centre has already begun attending to patients, and a progressive increase in demand is expected in the coming weeks. With this expansion, Psicologica reinforces its commitment to innovation in mental health and the improvement of the psychological well-being of the Vinalopó population.
Psicologica is a spin-off promoted by UMH professors and researchers Mireia Orgilés and José Pedro Espada. The company focuses on the psychological treatment of mental health issues. Among its programmes, it highlights the care for families and adolescents with emotional problems and disorders, and the dissemination of evidence-based interventions for the psychological treatment of these issues.
