Stalker of Scarlett Johansson Arrested After Bomb Threats Against Her Husband

Scarlett Johansson can breathe a sigh of relief after a dangerous stalker who threatened to kill her and her husband has been arrested. Michael Joseph Branham, aged 48, was apprehended after claiming he intended to plant bombs at the studio where Saturday Night Live is filmed, a CNN show where the actress's husband, Colin Jost, works.

The individual, obsessed with the actress, even had her tattooed on his chest over a large heart. Although he was captured in Manhattan, he already had four outstanding arrest warrants in Kentucky, highlighting his dangerousness.

The judge overseeing the case has ordered protective measures for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost and has set Branham's bail at over $100,000. Meanwhile, the stalker's defense argues that their client was deceived by people impersonating the film star, portraying him as a victim of "a trap."

Back in November 2023, the actress requested a restraining order against her stalker in California, dating the start of the harassment to August 2022. However, in 2024, the court dismissed the request due to a procedural issue. Now, his escalation of threats has culminated in his arrest.
