A neighbour's report of a burglary in his home in a district of Dénia has sparked a police operation that ended with the arrest of three individuals. These individuals had squatted in a house near the complainant's, where officers found over 300 marijuana plants and items allegedly stolen from various homes, according to the Provincial Police Station.
The capture of the three alleged criminals began after receiving a report of a burglary in a home located in a rural area of Dénia, where the owner noticed several missing belongings. Following this, the police initiated investigative procedures, which led them to a house that had been squatted, located near the burglarized home.
Consequently, officers conducted discreet surveillance on the usurped house and identified one of the individuals residing there illegally. They then gathered more evidence confirming their suspicions about the possible involvement of the residents in the reported burglary.
With the judicial warrant in hand, officers conducted a search of the house, where they found items stolen from the complainant's home, as well as many other items of suspected illicit origin. However, this was not the only illegal find during the search. In an annex of the garden, officers discovered a marijuana plantation with 318 potted plants. They also uncovered an illegal connection to the electricity grid without a meter.
Finally, in addition to the plantation and items of illicit origin, two women and a man were arrested as suspected perpetrators of drug trafficking, electricity fraud, and burglary. A fourth individual was identified but could not be arrested at the time as they were not present in the squatted house.
