Alicante Carnival 2025 is here. Despite the rain forecasts for this weekend, Alicante is moving forward with the Sábado Ramblero, which will gather thousands from early afternoon with children's events and continue until 4 a.m. for adults. Music, fun, and many costumes will flood Alicante's central avenue.
Due to high demand for travel to Alicante during the festival, Renfe has scheduled a special Cercanías train service to Alicante for the Carnival celebrations this weekend.
The company has scheduled 7 special trains between Crevillent and Alicante, in both directions, running on the night of Saturday, March 1, and the early hours of Sunday, March 2.
These special trains will run at double capacity to accommodate all travellers heading to enjoy the Carnival festivities. From Alicante to Crevillent, two special trains will run, one on Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. and another early Sunday morning at 12:05 a.m. In the opposite direction, from Crevillent to Alicante, special trains will depart at 12:23 a.m. and 12:53 a.m. on Sunday morning.
During the early hours of Sunday, March 2, three special trains will also run to Crevillent at 5:45 a.m., 6:15 a.m., and 7:25 a.m.
Additionally, the usual service will be reinforced on Saturday afternoon, with trains running at double capacity from Murcia to Alicante at 7:10 p.m., 8:50 p.m., and 10:30 p.m., and from Callosa de Segura to Alicante at 10:10 p.m.
This special operation provides 7,000 extra seats for the C1 line over the weekend, 6,300 between Murcia and Alicante, and 700 between Alicante and Callosa de Segura, with a total offer of 18,344 seats for the two days.
Meanwhile, Alicante's Tram will offer a special night service on Saturday, March 1, until approximately 3 a.m. to facilitate the expected mass movements in the city due to the Carnival parades and festivities. Tram lines 2, 3, and 4 will extend their usual schedules so that everyone attending these festivities can return home comfortably and quickly, without needing to drive their private vehicles.
In total, 45 trams will connect the centre of Alicante with the usual destinations of the lines and the reverse route. Line 2 (Luceros-San Vicente del Raspeig) will offer 14 trips, seven in each direction. The first special service will depart from Luceros at 10:39 p.m. and the last at 1:54 a.m. From San Vicente, the first will depart at 10:09 p.m. and the last at 2:24 a.m.
Line 3 (Luceros-El Campello) will offer eleven outbound and three return trips, 14 in total. The first will leave Luceros at 11:19 p.m. and the last from the same station at 3:04 a.m. On the return, the first will depart from El Campello at 10:10 p.m. and the last at 11:10 p.m.
In addition to these return trips, the last three services of Line 1 departing from Benidorm (by bus to Hospital La Vila due to ongoing works) and usually ending their journey at El Campello will continue to Luceros on Saturday, with optional stops at all stations except Sangueta, as Line 3 does. Therefore, there will be six return services to Luceros.
Line 4 (Luceros-Plaza La Coruña) will operate fourteen convoys, seven units on the outbound journey, the first at 10:59 p.m. from Luceros and the last at 1:59 a.m. From Plaza La Coruña, there will be seven trips, the first at 11:30 p.m. and the last at 2:30 a.m.
It should be noted that the special services will not stop at the Sangueta station.
