The board of the Spanish Football Federation, in its first meeting held this Thursday in Madrid, has decided that the men's and women's national football teams will play their upcoming matches in Valencia.
Specifically, Luis de la Fuente's team will play the second leg of the Nations League quarter-finals against the Netherlands on Sunday, March 23, at the Mestalla stadium. The reigning European champions aim to be the first team to retain the Nations title after their victory in Rotterdam in 2023.
Meanwhile, the women's national team will play their first group stage match of the Nations League on Friday, February 21, against Belgium at the Ciutat de València stadium. This will be their first commitment in 2025, a year in which they face new challenges such as defending that title and the European Championship in Switzerland next July.
In this way, Spanish football sends a new message of solidarity and will support those affected by the DANA that struck the Valencian Community with force last October.
