Citroën has emerged as a major beneficiary in the revitalised Spanish electric vehicle market, spurred by the return of Plan Moves III incentives.

The Double Chevron brand concluded May with remarkable growth in electric vehicle sales, with the Citroën ë-C3 standing out as the best-selling 100% electric car in Spain.

The urban compact recorded 576 registrations in May, capturing a 6.4% market share and leading its B-segment with an impressive 38.7% penetration.

However, Citroën's electric success is not confined to passenger cars. In the 100% electric commercial vehicle segment, the brand also topped the monthly rankings with 143 registrations, marking a 79% increase compared to May 2024 and a 19% market share.

Overall, Citroën's electric vehicle sales soared by 281% compared to the same month last year, reaching 803 registered units and an 8.3% penetration in the electrified market.

Additionally, the Citroën Ami continues to dominate the electric quadricycle category in the annual tally, with 181 registrations and a 48% share.

The excellent performance of the new Citroën C4, exclusively manufactured at Stellantis Madrid, is also noteworthy, with a 153.4% growth compared to May 2024, achieving 1,985 registrations, placing it in the Top 10 of the general ranking and as the leader among C-segment saloons.
