PLD Space, the aerospace company based in Elche, is seeking students interested in undertaking summer internships at their facilities. Through PLD Space Academy, the company has launched its summer scholarship programme for undergraduate and master's students who wish to train in the aerospace field.
The company is looking for talented young individuals to contribute to projects such as the Miura 5 or the Miura Next launchers, where students "will have the opportunity to directly influence the development of advanced space technologies, working alongside industry experts," the company details.
José Andrés Sánchez, Chief People and Culture Officer at PLD Space, explained that they are seeking "students with ambition, creativity, and a deep interest in the challenges of the space sector."
Vacancies are offered in three areas: in Miura 5, students will be trained in manufacturing engineering and infrastructure, component supply, or occupational risk management; in Miura Next, they will participate in the development of our propulsive landing solutions and transport services for all types of cargo missions and manned flights; lastly, in the Business area, they will learn about the market and be part of the Business, Public Affairs, or Investor Relations teams.
Currently, PLD Space already has agreements with the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Madrid), Complutense University of Madrid (Madrid), Miguel Hernández University (Elche), University of Alicante (Alicante), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Valencia), IE Business School (Madrid), European University Miguel de Cervantes (Valladolid), University of Seville (Seville), Autonomous University of Barcelona (Barcelona), Carlos III University (Madrid), and CEU San Pablo University (Madrid). Additionally, it is finalising agreements with other leading universities in Spain and abroad.
Moreover, through PLD Space Academy, the company is developing the first internship programme for vocational training, with options for incorporation into the company depending on the availability of vacancies.
The AdAstra Early Talent Day 2025 will be the virtual event through which PLD Space will showcase internship and development opportunities for young people interested in becoming part of the future of the space industry. This event, to be held on March 25 via Zoom Events, will be presented by Javier Santaolalla, a doctor in particle physics and telecommunications engineering graduate. It will also feature the participation of PLD Space CEO and co-founder, Raúl Torres, along with the team of senior engineers and former interns who have been hired by the company.
