The lineup for Barcelona's Sónar 2025 festival is a unique musical universe, where the underground connects with the latest trends, the radical meets the avant-garde, and the local intertwines with the global. Last November, the first 66 names were announced in one of the biggest program previews in the history of the premier electronic music festival. The announcement included dance legends like Plastikman, Latin pop superstar Nathy Peluso, two of the UK's most important electronic names, Bicep and Overmono; developing shows by renowned artists Arca and Eric Prydz, and four-handed sessions by Armin van Buuren with Indira Paganotto and Skrillex accompanied by Blawan.
Three months later, Sónar presents its new collaboration with one of the most recognized brands in dance music, London's Boiler Room, debuting in the nighttime slot on June 13 and 14 at the Fira Gran Vía venue in Barcelona. Additionally, heavyweights Honey Dijon, Four Tet, Peggy Gou, Mochakk, and Vintage Culture are joined by German Dixon, veteran Hiroko Yamamura, Mexican deep techno artist Andy Martin, new age advocate Tim Reaper, and the leading figure of speed garage: Interplanetary Criminal.
If you're looking for modern, explosive, and energetic club music, the presence of Barcelona's Naguiyami and Argentina's Dirtilarita always guarantees sessions designed to make you sweat, coming from dance floors around the world, while Venezuela and Andalusia will be connected when L'Miranda and Candadismo join forces in the booth.
At Sónar by Day, held at the Fira Montjuic venue, two of the most respected (and probably overlooked) DJs of the so-called Chicago House, Alinka and Shaun J. Wright, will perform consecutively. Amantra, a resident of the famous Barcelona event Latineo, is a staple of the European underground circuit thanks to her sharp and varied performances, while Hello Sasy, based in Berlin, is melodic, hard, fast, and euphoric in equal parts.
From Barcelona, Nahoomie is making a name with sessions filled with 90s house and garage, while from Madrid, Colombian DJ María Latina has built a reputation as a lethal selector, weaving together house, breakbeat, UK garage, and countless other styles.
Yet, the festival also hosts another more creative space. Sónar+D is the annual program of activities exploring the shared spaces between creative industries, innovation, and technology. With a three-day agenda fully integrated into the Sónar by Day program, you'll find talks and debates, radical performances, and an interactive exhibition space. It's a unique proposal that combines content, formats, and a uniquely inspiring atmosphere.
It also offers the ideal space for meeting and exchanging with artists and thinkers, as well as with other professionals and curious audiences. Leading the charge is Pa Salieu, the British-Gambian rapper on the brink of stardom following the release of Afrikan Alien, where he blends drill and rap with Afrobeat influences. This is the gala menu for the 32nd edition of Sónar, the most avant-garde global festival always ready to ignite the frequency of the now.
