Hercules has faced a streak of bad luck this November. Alongside a poor run of four matches without a win (three in the league and one in the Copa del Rey), they now face the loss of their most pivotal player: striker Oriol Soldevila. The Catalan forward played the last half hour against Villarreal B with a broken toe, and tests have confirmed the severity of the injury. The recovery period is uncertain as it depends on whether he undergoes surgery or opts for conservative treatment, but it is expected he will not return until 2025.

Soldevila will not play this Wednesday against Marbella at the Rico Pérez Stadium (8:30 PM), nor will two of the summer signings: midfielder Mario García and forward Dani Romera.

"We are having incredibly bad luck with injuries because muscle tears are coming from impacts and the rest are fractures... But we will pull through, I have no doubt. This group is a family, Soldevila endured half an hour on the field with a broken toe and now he is devastated, which speaks volumes about the commitment here. If Solde doesn't play, someone else will step up and do well. We are confident and will overcome this," assured coach Rubén Torrecilla on Tuesday.

The schedule offers no respite for Hercules and it is highly unlikely that Mario García and Dani Romera will travel to Huelva for Sunday's match against Recreativo. "We play at a very high pace and no one can come in who isn't at one hundred percent because it would be very noticeable and the risk of relapse is high. Misfortunes never come alone and Roger (Colomina) was thought to have a knee sprain. This Tuesday he felt better and I believe he will be ready for Marbella," added Torrecilla.

Finally, the Extremaduran coach reiterated the lack of minutes for midfielder Franck Angong, the only first-team player yet to debut. "He arrived last summer and has been out for a year and a half after a very serious knee injury. We have a lot of quality in midfield with Mario, Roger, Mangada, and Artiles, so it's understandable that he finds it difficult to break in," concluded Torrecilla.
