The Socialist Group of the Alicante Provincial Council has reported that the exam for the competition to access 58 administrative assistant positions held on February 8th, contained 42 questions out of a total of 80 with some format error in the correct answers. The exam was reconvened after reports of irregularities and repeated on March 1st.
"In light of these obviously intentional incidents, we are facing a case of total discredit towards the institution of the Provincial Council itself and a lack of respect towards the aspiring candidates. Therefore, the Socialist Group will not cease to demand the pertinent responsibilities and will request the creation of an Investigation Commission," stated the Socialist spokesperson Vicente Arques.
Additionally, Socialist deputy José Ramiro Pastor wanted to add that "from the Socialist Group, we fully trust the technicians, but it is true that the same Technical Commission admitted an error in the preparation of the test. A total of 42 questions present some type of anomaly in the format of their answers, casually indicating the correct option, mostly with a lack of justification in the text or, for example, starting the sentence with a lowercase letter. In conclusion, a whole series of intentional signals that would allow some candidate familiar with these guidelines to pass. A rigging, and a lack of principles, that have been carried out time and again, and that we will not tolerate."
"We must work to restore the dignity of the provincial institution we represent," Arques concluded.
