Slovak Fugitive Captured During Routine Check in Torrevieja Leisure Area

Slovak fugitive had been hiding in Torrevieja for nearly a year, and a random check in a leisure area has brought his adventure to an end.

The intervention took place on March 29, during a preventive police operation in one of the town's main leisure areas, aimed at verifying people and vehicles entering the port area, which is frequented by numerous citizens during weekends.

During the operation, officers noticed a vehicle whose driver attempted to avoid the check. As a precaution, the patrol acted and intercepted it, finding two occupants inside.

After verifying their identity, it was confirmed that the passenger was subject to a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) issued by Slovak judicial authorities. It was later confirmed that the fugitive had settled in Spain since mid-2024.
