Sexual Ambush in Elche: Man Attacked with Axe by Girlfriend's Partner

What seemed like just another sexual encounter, one that begins with a few messages via mobile and ends in bed, turned into a real nightmare. A man was brutally attacked in a house in the Carrús neighbourhood of Elche after arranging an intimate meeting through a dating app. Instead of a romantic encounter, he was met with an ambush involving a kitchen axe, as reported by TodoAlicante.

The incident occurred in the early hours of last Tuesday, when the victim, after several conversations with a woman through a dating app, was invited to her home, located near Barcelona Square. Trusting, the man headed to the given address. According to information gathered by this newspaper, he even asked a Local Police patrol for directions to the apartment, unaware of what awaited him.

Upon arriving at the residence, the woman opened the door and the young man entered without hesitation. But as soon as he crossed the threshold, he was pushed inside and confronted by a man armed with a kitchen axe: it was his date's boyfriend. "Give me all your money," they demanded. Apparently, the couple had devised a trap to rob him.

The victim did not yield to the threat, and a bloody struggle ensued among the three involved, during which the victim sustained numerous cuts all over his body, with the most severe wound on his arm, requiring emergency surgery at a hospital. Amidst the chaos, gravely injured, the man managed to fight back, escape the residence, and call 091.

A National Police patrol arrived at the scene and interviewed those involved in the incident. Meanwhile, the couple called 092, which dispatched a Local Police unit to speak with the callers to hear their version. The assaulted man recounted the events to the municipal officers, explaining that he had stopped a local patrol minutes before the attack to ask for directions to the residence, information corroborated by the officers, thus debunking the alleged attackers' story.

Following the brutal assault, the National Police confirmed to this newspaper the arrest of the couple as alleged perpetrators of a robbery with violence and assault. The victim's testimony has been crucial in reconstructing the sexual ambush that nearly cost him his life.

The sexual trap in a Carrús residence comes just 24 hours after the brutal stabbing that claimed the life of a 32-year-old Moroccan citizen in Primero de Mayo Square, in the same Elche neighbourhood.

The deceased fell critically injured after being stabbed multiple times in broad daylight, around 6 p.m. The assailant vanished without a trace while the victim fought for his life. Just hours after the violent incident, the National Police, following a thorough investigation, located the assailant at his residence in Carrús. Around midnight, officers stormed the home and arrested the 48-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of the crime.

After the fatal attack, the Mayor of Elche, Pablo Ruz, acknowledged that Carrús is a neighbourhood where the vast majority of residents are workers and peaceful people, but he believes the data confirms the need to increase controls and preventive measures. On the same night of his statements, another knife attack disturbed the neighbourhood's peace once again.
