Seville Actress Ana Fernández Receives Honorary Award at Alicante International Film Festival 2025

Seville actress Ana Fernández (Valencina de la Concepción, 1965) has been honoured with the Honorary Award at the 22nd edition of the Alicante Film Festival for her "dedication and contribution" to the film and theatre industry. She will receive the award at the opening ceremony of the 2025 festival, which will take place on May 17th at the Principal Theatre in Alicante's capital.

Fernández expressed her "surprise and gratitude" for the "pleasant news" of the award: "It is a warm encouragement to continue doing my work as best as I can."

She also highlighted the "pride" and "responsibility that comes with receiving this award," as it has also been given to other "important, admired, and beloved" colleagues in the profession.

In this regard, the Honorary Award of the Alicante International Film Festival has also been awarded to actors and actresses such as Antonio Resines, Maribel Verdú, Karra Elejalde, Kiti Mánver, Pedro Casablanc, Imanol Arias, Blanca Portillo, José Sancho, Juan Echanove, Ángela Molina, and Héctor Alterio, recognised in the last edition, as the organisation recalled in a statement.

Meanwhile, the festival's director, Vicente Seva, expressed his "great pride" in being able to present this recognition "to an actress with such a significant career as Ana Fernández." "Her dedication and talent have left an indelible mark both in cinema and theatre," he added.
