New Series of Discussions on Alicante's Hogueras

Las Hogueras de Alicante continue to be a topic of discussion, to the extent that the San Blas district has organised a new series of discussions to address and analyse some of the main aspects of the city's official festivities.

This bonfire will feature various guests related to the world of Fogueres de Sant Joan, to explore different aspects of the bonfire scene in three sessions: associations, economy, and media.

"These talks offer a unique opportunity to get a closer look at the initiatives and experiences that keep our tradition alive," explain representatives from the Polígono de San Blas bonfire.

As Alicante's official festivities approach their first centenary, to be celebrated in 2028, these discussions aim to find solutions and opportunities for the various challenges faced by the Fogueres.

The first discussion will be dedicated to the associations that make up the 91 bonfires and over half a hundred barracas, and will take place this Tuesday, January 21, at 7 PM in the Ámbito Cultural room of El Corte Inglés in Federico Soto, Alicante.

This inaugural session will feature Conrado Albaladejo from the Virgen del Remedio-La Cruz bonfire; José Espín from Sant Blai de Dalt; Rosana González from the Sèneca-Autobusos bonfire and the El Cabasset barraca; and Analú Pérez from San Blas.

The speakers will address key aspects of the bonfire and barraca associations, such as sectors, groups, and federations. "Are they really useful? Are they meeting the objectives set when they were created? Could more be gained from them?" are some of the questions.

The remaining discussions will be held on February 5, to talk about the economy in the context of Alicante's Hogueras; and media on February 19.
