For many, the end of August marks the conclusion of summer and vacations, but not for the hotels on the Costa Blanca, which have made September their new "star month". With a different type of tourism, the number of guests rivals those recorded during the peak summer period.

According to Hosbec, the hotel association of the Comunitat, there is a radical shift in tourist profiles from August to September, a month when occupancy rates reach up to 91%, as noted in the first half of the month in Benidorm.

Hotels report "similar or even higher figures than those recorded during the first fifteen days of August," and the association highlights that September is emerging "as one of the most attractive months on the calendar, rivaling the peak summer month."

The return to school and work gives way to new tourist profiles, such as senior travelers and couples on getaways, who dominate these days in September and during the final throes of the high season.

Despite this, national tourism continues to dominate in Costa Blanca, accounting for 51.1% of the total, with British tourists as the second largest group. In specific locations like Benidorm, however, the UK captures 40% of the market share. Hosbec notes an "increase in international market share."
