The Second Teulada Moraira Life Awards Gala Strengthens Its Prestige with a Night Full of Tributes to Its Residents

The second edition of the Teulada Moraira Life Awards Gala, for the second consecutive year, granted institutional recognition to several residents of the municipality who, over the years, have contributed their effort, affection, and dedication to Teulada Moraira, promoting the municipality from various fields.

Thus, last Thursday, May 15th, the Teulada Moraira Auditorium welcomed the awardees, their families, and residents of Teulada Moraira to celebrate and pay tribute to those who have made Teulada Moraira a better place.

At 7 PM, the reception took place, where they posed at a photocall located at the main entrance. Subsequently, the live broadcast by La 8 Mediterráneo commenced the gala, accompanied by the song 'Voy a pasármelo bien', performed by the pop-rock group Castigatis, who entertained the gala live on several occasions.

During the event, attendees also enjoyed the performance of mentalist Alex Ruiz, a former participant of 'Got Talent', who engaged the audience with two experiments that amazed everyone.

Finally, and in special mention, the main part of the gala focused on awarding recognitions to each resident who can now proudly say that, thanks to their work and dedication to Teulada Moraira throughout their lives, a Life Award bears their name.

This edition, the awardees were as follows:

- Teulada Moraira Life Award in the 'Associations' category to José Oller Malonda, for being the president of the Retirees and Pensioners Association for many years and gathering the largest number of members in the association's history.

- Teulada Moraira Life Award in the 'Business Career' category to Severino Llobell Cuello, for being an entrepreneur and creator of Sevisal, a local beverage distribution company that has provided jobs to many people in the municipality.

- Teulada Moraira Life Award posthumously in the 'Education' category to Vicenta Buigues Buigues, for a life dedicated to education as a teacher at CEIP Sant Vicent Ferrer in Teulada.

- Teulada Moraira Life Award in the 'International Visibility of Teulada Moraira' category to Juan Moll Llobell, who leads the Sand Restaurant and La Sort Boutique Hotel in Moraira, was the head waiter of Joël Robuchon's restaurants, the chef with the most Michelin stars in the world. Wherever he has gone, traveling the world, he has carried the name of Teulada Moraira.

- Teulada Moraira Life Award in the 'Integration' category to Silvya Georgina Tatnell, current president of the Association of Relatives of People with Alzheimer's -AFA- of Teulada Moraira. She was also a councillor and president of the Moors and Christians of Moraira, and founder of one of the participating groups. She managed to integrate into Teulada Moraira as if she were a native.

- Teulada Moraira Life Award in the 'Tourist Development of Teulada Moraira' category to the Moraira Yacht Club, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. It has contributed to the tourist development of the municipality and one of our natural heritages: the sea.

- Teulada Moraira Life Award in the 'Promotion of Cultural and Musical Heritage' category to the Teulada Cultural Musical Group, which has more than 300 members and over 100 musicians. The cultural and festive life of Teulada Moraira would not be the same without its music band.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Teulada Moraira, Raúl Llobell, describes this gala as "a well-deserved recognition to those who have left an important mark on Teulada Moraira throughout their lives." He also adds that the reason for these awards lies in the importance of honouring those who have made our municipality a better place, therefore stating "may we never lack the memory to thank, nor the heart to continue building together this place we love so much: Teulada Moraira." Finally, he addressed both the awardees and the residents, congratulating them and thanking them for their attendance to continue celebrating who we are.
