The Central Market of Elda hosted the presentation of the second edition of the 'Sabor a Elda' Gastronomic Days on Tuesday, February 25. The event will be held on the weekends of March 7-9 and 14-16, with the participation of 35 hospitality establishments in the city.

The Councillors for Commerce and Markets, Silvia Ibáñez, and for Tourism, Rosa Vidal, unveiled the details of the days that "establish Elda as a gastronomic reference in the province of Alicante." At the presentation event, which was followed by a tasting of the traditional 'mezclaíco', representatives of the participating restaurants and bars were present.

Support for the hospitality sector

Silvia Ibáñez highlighted that "these days can be held not only due to the drive of the Commerce and Tourism departments but also due to the involvement and strength of our city's hospitality sector. After the success of the first edition and the feedback we received, we have decided to carry out a second edition and continue supporting Elda's hospitality sector."

The Councillor for Commerce and Markets explained that "we have surpassed last year's figures, which saw the participation of around thirty establishments, and this time we have reached 35 bars and restaurants. In them, we will be able to taste and enjoy creations with a taste of Elda, proposals inspired by the city's gastronomy."

For her part, Rosa Vidal stated that "we will continue to explore what Elda tastes like. The first days served to reflect on the flavors and dishes of Elda; now it's time to continue researching and innovating on tradition. These are days focused on the people of Elda, who will remember dishes their families prepared, but also for visitors who want to discover traditional creations like fandango, pelota, gachamiga, and drinks like the typical 'mezclaíco'."

The Councillor for Tourism, who also thanked the involvement of CIPFP Valle de Elda and the Association of Housewives, stated that "all information about participating establishments, menus, and prices is available on the Elda Tourism website (www.turismo.elda.es), on social media, and in brochures available at the Tourist Info."
