Advection fog continues to be the main feature of the week. After obscuring much of the city's skyline, the phenomenon returned this Sunday to make Santa Bárbara Castle in Alicante vanish.
The fortress left an uncrowned Benacantil at various times of the day. The phenomenon remained at low altitudes, without reaching the ground, at least in the city centre.
Its appearance has once again caused this curious optical effect, removing the Santa Bárbara Castle, with its walls and bastions, from the view of Alicante residents and visitors who came to see it.

The advection fog dissipated for much of the morning on Sunday, although it left this scene early in the day and returned in the afternoon.
This forms from the movement of warm, moist air over a cold surface, leading to the condensation of water vapour. It is essentially a thermal clash between surface air and water temperature, which "remains cold."
The proximity of the sea to the Alicante coast causes these weak mists to "reach a few meters inland for a few hours."
This same phenomenon was also observed last Tuesday in the town of Calp. It was there that its emblematic and iconic Peñón de Ifach swapped water for a sea of clouds.
Experts from ÁpiceDrones went to take recordings during the morning and were met with the special scene. Above the advection fog, the peak of the Peñón emerged, leaving a unique snapshot seen only from the skies.
