Ana Rosa Quintana (aged 69, Madrid) bids farewell to viewers for the holidays until September. The host of 'El programa de Ana Rosa' gave her usual end-of-season review, closing with an average of 14% share and 320,000 viewers, ahead of TVE and Antena 3 in its broadcast slot. During a media meeting, she denounced the PSOE's ban on attending her morning show and warned she would interrupt her summer break if current events required it.

- How are these holidays looking?

- I haven't made any plans. It's been five months of non-stop work. For now, I'm not even thinking about going to the beach. I have pending matters, and then maybe we'll take a trip and end up at the beach.

- Are you surprised by the corruption affecting the PSOE?

- I'm astonished that there's such a graphic case of corruption and we can see it. They acted with great calm and impunity, or they had a lot of support. I don't know if Ábalos and Cerdán could have imagined that Koldo (the former advisor to the ex-minister) was recording their conversations. Imagine what could come out of that. No one thinks they're going to jail, and they've acted with impunity because they haven't done business in one specific place; they've used multiple autonomous communities. There are many people who must be very worried now.

- Do you think a president knows everything happening around them?

- It's impossible that he didn't know. If there are four people travelling in a car across Spain for five months, don't you know who your companions are? Anyone who takes a three-day trip knows what people are like. I don't know about the economic side, but when talking to others, you can tell, for example, about attitudes towards women or machismo. And then being in so many ministries... Has nothing ever reached the president, or has no one ever told him about Cerdán? It's very strange. I can't say more because I don't have anything concrete, but common sense tells you he knew.

- Do you think Sánchez will reinvent himself?

- He's very surprising, but this is the end of a cycle, and I don't know how long it will last. Pedro Sánchez can't run for elections again. I clearly distinguish between the PSOE and 'sanchismo', and there are many militants and political figures who don't recognise their party.

- How do you see the opposition?

- They've made the cosmetic move of meeting with Sánchez's partners to show they're trying. It's not the time for a vote of no confidence. It's absurd; it won't succeed. Seeing what's happening, we should leave them be. The audit on Sánchez will be done by the UCO.

- Do you disconnect from current events?

- Completely. I have an unlimited capacity to do nothing. I don't disconnect because I don't want to, and I enjoy it.

- Your editorials continue to have an impact, especially on social media.

- It neither surprises nor doesn't surprise me. It's true that one of my editorials had four million views, and it catches my attention. I'm very clear, and what I say now I've been saying for years. I've been part of the 'fachoesfera', and many are now joining my side too.

- Why do you think the PSOE doesn't want to come to your show?

- I don't understand it. Minister Carlos Cuerpo did come because he's a great guy. The PSOE might not want me, and that's it. They do go to other media outlets that are very critical of the government.

"I don't see Intxaurrondo"

- What did you think of Javier Ruiz's move to La 1's mornings? Did you expect that move?

- I don't comment on what happens on other channels; I have enough with my own, but I think it's good that people have jobs.

- And how do you see your rivals in the morning?

- I don't see Silvia Intxaurrondo on 'La hora de La 1'. I appreciate that she watches me, but I don't see her. And if I did, I wouldn't comment on a colleague, ever. It pains me greatly that other journalists don't respect colleagues who think differently.

- Do you feel respected?

I feel very respected. I have a very good relationship with colleagues who think like me and those who don't.
