The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has announced that this Monday his Executive has launched the distribution of 200 million euros for aid of rental for young people.
He said it in a conference within the framework of Prisa's 'World in Progress' day, in which he also assured that the Government will implement a regulation "to prevent fraud in tourist and seasonal accommodation contracts".
Sánchez has asked all administrations with housing competencies to "lend a hand", and has called for the Housing Law to be applied because he considers that it offers very useful tools to municipalities and autonomous communities, in his words.
He assured that he listens carefully and shares the demand of Sunday's demonstration in Madrid for housing, and warned that if there is no strong reaction to this problem, Spanish society will end up divided into two classes: "And I do not want a Spain where there are rich landlords and poor tenants".
He defended that his Government has set housing as an absolute priority, and highlighted that in the 6 years he has been governing, "pioneering laws" have been approved, investment in housing has multiplied by 8 to 20.4 billion euros, and rent price increases are being contained, according to his data.

"We have also managed to end the scourge of evictions that caused so much damage in the previous financial crisis, we managed to protect public housing from speculation, we managed for thousands of young people to access rent or buy thanks to the bonds and credits from the Official Credit Institute," Sánchez enumerated, adding that all this is not enough.
The President of the Government has stated that the housing problem requires "forceful measures", and has also committed to adapting those already approved.
For Sánchez, the housing problem "does not understand magic wands, but neither does it understand sticks in the wheels to be able to implement solutions adapted to each territory", and he defended that the Housing Law works where it is applied, after which he cited Barcelona as an example.
He also valued the announcement by the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, last week to promote during this legislature the construction of 50,000 protected homes with an investment of 4.4 billion euros.
"It is the path we must continue all administrations together. Hopefully all regional and local administrations understand it once and for all," he emphasized.
