In 2024, the Korean brand KGM registered 5,923 units in Spain, marking an 84% increase compared to 2023, according to the company.

This achievement follows the rebranding from SsangYong to KGM after the brand was acquired by South Korean conglomerate KG Group. The new initials stand for "Korean Genuinely Made." KGM's origins date back to 1954, when it was founded as Ha Dong-hwan Motor Company.

In 1986, the company adopted the name SsangYong, which remained until 2024. During this period, SsangYong specialized in producing off-road vehicles and SUVs, gaining worldwide recognition for their robustness and off-road capability.

In 2024, SsangYong was acquired by the South Korean conglomerate KG Group and rebranded as KGM, aiming to reflect its Korean origins and commitment to quality and innovation.

KGM's General Manager, Carlos Olaso, emphasized that 2024 marked "a new era full of opportunities." By model, their best-selling vehicle was the Tivoli with 3,024 units, followed by the Korando with 1,134 sales, and the third most notable was the Korando with 746 registered vehicles.

KGM has established itself in 2024 as one of the fastest-growing brands in Spain, allowing it to be "a new reference in the Spanish automotive market," according to the company.

KGM continues to offer a range of SUVs and off-road vehicles, known for their robustness and off-road capability. The company has introduced new models and updated its existing range to offer more advanced technologies and modern designs.
