Irony, popular wit, and the art of turning things around arrive at the Alicante Bonfires. The artist Pere Baenas will set up this ensemble under the motto 'I say it backwards so you understand', returning to Sagrada Familia, a district he revisits since 2014 to plant in the Special category this June.
The grand ambition of the bonfire is marked by a daring aesthetic, inspired by the style that characterized more than one Alicante artist in various eras of the past century. The surprise will be capped by a visual explosion designed to impress.

The Sagrada Familia 2025 bonfire is structured around the idea of perception: what you see is not always what it is. Through proverbs and popular expressions, Pere Baenas proposes a satire where perspective is everything. Nothing is literal, but everything makes sense if viewed from the right angle.
A world surrounded by angels and demons hovers over the central body of the bonfire. Both sides engage in a chess game for control of the planet, while the king and queen - key figures of power - decide the fate of humanity.
The scenes surrounding the bonfire will come to life, with much satire in the style of Sagrada Familia, with sayings like 'Tell me who you walk with and I'll tell you who you are' or 'Wolf in sheep's clothing', thus questioning human behavior with humor and sharpness.
