With the summer season just around the corner, airlines are already preparing for what promises to be record-breaking months. At the Alicante-Elche airport, 14.7 million seats have been scheduled for the coming months, and following January's record, it seems that 2025 will continue to grow in passenger numbers.
Following announcements of new routes by airlines such as EasyJet or Wizz Air, it is now Ryanair's turn. The leading airline at Alicante-Elche airport, which transported 7.3 million people in 2024, the highest volume among all airlines.
Looking ahead to the summer season, Ryanair is once again betting on Alicante and has opened three new routes with European cities that, for the first time, will have flights to the terminal. These include Bydgoszcz in Poland, and Linz and Salzburg in Austria. For the first time, these three cities will have flights to Alicante-Elche airport, and tickets are already on sale on the airline's website.
In the case of Bydgoszcz, Ryanair will start operating from March 31, with two daily connections on Mondays and Thursdays. On Mondays, a flight will depart for the Polish city at 6:15 am, arriving at 9:35 am, while the return flight will be at 10:00 am, landing in Alicante at 1:20 pm. On Thursdays, the schedules will be from 5:25 pm to 8:45 pm Alicante-Bydgoszcz and from 9:10 pm to 12:30 am.
The second of the new destinations is Linz, a city crossed by the Danube. The first flight will be on July 1, with connections on Tuesdays and Saturdays. On the first day, it will fly from Alicante to Linz at 7:35 am, arriving at 10:15 am, and in the opposite direction at 10:40 am, landing in Alicante at 1:20 pm. On Saturdays, it will fly from Alicante at 3:50 pm, arriving at 6:30 pm, and from Linz at 10:40 am, arriving at 1:20 pm.
The last of the destinations, Salzburg, is known for being the home of Mozart and one of Austria's great cities. It will have flights on Mondays and Thursdays, with the first departing on March 31. The schedules are as follows: on Tuesdays at 10:10 am from Alicante, landing at 12:45 pm, and in the opposite direction at 1:25 pm from Salzburg, arriving at 4:05 pm. On Thursdays, it will depart from Alicante at 1:30 pm and land at 4:05 pm, while from Salzburg it will fly at 4:50 pm, landing at 7:30 pm.
Among the new routes for the summer are new connections with London thanks to Jet2's new base or flights to Bournemouth. Additionally, EasyJet will connect Alicante with destinations such as Athens or Naples.
