RTVE has decided to end 'La familia de la tele' after seven weeks of unsuccessful attempts to boost the programme's ratings, which aired in the afternoon on La 1. The cancellation, set for this Wednesday, had been decided days ago, but the official announcement from the corporation was made just minutes ago.

'La familia de la tele' will bid farewell to viewers following a tumultuous debut that began on May 5th. The programme, which revived elements and the universe of 'Sálvame', arrived on the public broadcaster with high expectations that have not been met. Audience figures, poor from the start, continued to decline, with neither the lunchtime nor the afternoon slots performing well. The company management gave the programme a lifeline by moving the magazine to a 7:30 PM slot on Monday, but the result was even worse, with ratings plummeting to 4.3%.
