RTVE Confirms Andreu Buenafuente's Arrival on La 1 with 'Futuro Imperfecto'

It is now official. Andreu Buenafuente will debut on La 1 with 'Futuro Imperfecto', a weekly comedy show in prime time marking his first collaboration with the national public television. The show, produced by RTVE in collaboration with El Terrat (The Mediapro Studio), signifies Buenafuente's return to national open television after more than ten years and is set to premiere this spring.

Each week, Buenafuente will deliver a monologue offering his personal and humorous take on the world in recent days. With a fresh and irreverent approach, the 60-minute program will reflect on reality, blending humour and critique. "No one understands this world, but we must try. Let's laugh about it and highlight the good," says the broadcaster.

The show will be recorded from a theatre in Terrassa, with a live audience of 700 people engaged in the spectacle. Conceived as a television show, the format will combine Andreu's monologue with contributions from other comedian friends, sketches featuring some of the most popular actors and actresses in the national scene, conversations with various guests, and live musical performances. All of this, RTVE assures, "in a dynamic and improvisational environment where anything can happen."

According to the press release issued by the corporation, 'Futuro Imperfecto' "is a blend of what Andreu does best, with the experience gained over his career years and the risk of exploring new territories. A show where surprise, interaction, and humour will take centre stage."

Throughout his three decades of successful career, Andreu Buenafuente has been awarded six Ondas Awards and in 2020 received the National Television Award, establishing himself as one of the most prominent figures in the Spanish audiovisual landscape.
