The province of Alicante is much more than sun and beach, experiential tourism is the order of the day. Proof of this is the multitude of plans offered by the territory, which preserve the essence of each region and municipality. All of them are included in the 'Essències' project.
The initiative presents different itineraries, in eight destinations, that aim to connect visitors with the territory through 13 experiential routes. In them, you can discover the towns, their customs, landscapes, traditional crafts, local commerce, and gastronomy, also through its people.
Thus, you can travel to the origin of each of these experiences and participate in olive oil tastings among ancient olive trees, learn about and taste signature wines, visit local heritage and museums of each area, participate in workshops related to traditional crafts, buy typical local products or enjoy local gastronomy.
The routes last between two and six hours. None of them are difficult, and most include tastings and lunches or meals in local bars or restaurants, in addition to visits to museums and workshops.
This project is born from the collaboration between the Federació Alacantina per al Desenvolupament i la Innovació Territorial (Fadit) and the rural and fishing Local Action Groups of Alicante, with the support of the Diputación; all of them framed in the 'Essències' project.
