Ana Rosa Robles Azuar: "The Bonfires have helped me build my personality"

Ana Rosa Robles Azuar has been part of Alicante's official festivities, the Fogueres de Sant Joan, for 13 years. It is within these celebrations that she has "grown" and, consequently, they have "helped to shape both my bonfire personality and my own."

All this time she has spent in the Nou Babel district, which she represented as bellea last year and where she now holds the position of candidate for bellea del foc of the Alicante Bonfires 2025.

From her great year, as well as the rest, this Alicante native highlights the plantà. "In it, I can feel the excitement and anticipation of all the commissioners as we begin our grand days." Not only that, but she also admires how the sketches materialise into bonfires. "I enjoy them for the four days."

All of this makes Ana Rosa Robles Azuar see the Alicante Bonfires as "unity, tradition, and culture," as these festivities "represent us as a city and, therefore, I also feel they represent me."

One of the anecdotes shared by this candidate occurred on the day of her proclamation. "On stage were my parents to present the sash and surprise me." However, the surprise was hers. Her mother had never worn the traditional dress, and "I didn't recognise her," to the point of "not knowing who she was until a commissioner told me."
