The dragon has arrived in the city of Alicante, and its roar has set the foguerers and barraquers applauding. They gathered on the Avenida Ejércitos Españoles to enjoy this Sunday a new mascletà, the third in the 'Pòlvora tot l'any' cycle.

After a festive day with a breakfast organised by the bonfires and barracks of sector four in this Alicante neighbourhood, the gunpowder took over the space.

The belleas del foc, Alba Muñoz and Martina Lloret, along with their dames d'honor, the colonel of the Civil Guard, and officials from the Alicante Local Police and the Army, awaited the third signal of the mascletà to give the go-ahead. Not without first dedicating the display to the security forces ensuring the safety of the festival-goers.

Thus, immediately after, the shout of "senyor pirotècnic, pot començar la mascletà" was heard. With this, the conductor - the manager of Coeters Dragón, José María Enríquez - along with his team, lit the fuse of a Valencian firecracker that marked the beginning of the spectacle.

The start featured three aerial phases that set the pace and gained intensity with various devices. Thunder, whistles, roncadoras, sirens, and boxes of different effects combined in the first minutes of the mascletà.

These sets displayed the flight of the Villena dragon before setting its first foot on the ground. The thunder that resonated in this neighbourhood sounded like a claw swipe. The grip of this pyrotechnic beast was maintained during the terrestrial phase, divided into five sections.

The octopuses ignited, and with them, to the sound of the firecrackers, various calibre firecrackers fell, marking the rhythm and making the asphalt rumble. The dragon's steps were joined by the blows, with another five aerial phases that adorned the ground strikes.

After gaining strength, the beast reached the climax of its battle, with an earthquake that made the people of Alicante and festival-goers vibrate. Cheers and applause accompanied the moment, which continued with an aerial bombardment before culminating in a hermetic blow. Thus, Coeters Dragón's spectacle detonated 68.01 kilos of gunpowder in this Hogueras de Alicante mascletà.
