Pedro Luis Ripoll, head of service at the FIFA excellence medical center Ripoll and De Prado, states after the injury of the anterior cruciate ligament of Éder Militao, the second of this type, one in each knee, suffered in 15 months, that between 12 and 15% of athletes "may successively suffer" this type of coinciding injuries. "It is undoubtedly a serious injury. There are factors inherent to the structure of each individual's joint and their morphotype that determine this high rate of coinciding injuries," he adds.

"It is a serious injury especially because meniscal injuries are added, which conditions a suture of them that will prolong the recovery time," points out the expert, who is optimistic about the recovery since "medical science has more than acceptable solutions for this type of injuries."
