Who would have thought that Tanguy Uzel and Guzmán Colilla, founders of the Madrid-based startup ZYON, when they presented their idea to produce a revolutionary motorcycle helmet at the end of 2024, would just a few months later have received over 4,000 pre-orders for their new product from around the world.
They have developed a helmet with a patented advanced filtration system, the Breath Safe System, which protects motorcyclists against air pollution and allergies. The helmet also incorporates smart features such as accident detection, mobile app connectivity, and a rear brake light. It is causing such a sensation that all those motorcyclists who have already placed their orders through the website, without even trying it or knowing its final price (which will be mid-to-high range, between €600 and €800), have already made a financial deposit to secure their purchase.
Since its official presentation in November 2024, ZYON has focused its efforts on industrial design and setting up its production line. The goal is to start production of its first integrated air filtration in December 2025 and begin commercialization by mid-2026.
The initial timelines have been adjusted to allow for the integration of key improvements in this first commercial version, which will be certified according to European and international standards (ECE and DOT).
Meanwhile, the company is engaged in its second round of funding, aiming for 1 million euros in equity, already partially covered thanks to the support of investors who participated in the project's first stage.
ZYON also plans to launch a crowdfunding campaign, allowing its community to be part of the project with tickets from affordable amounts.
Tanguy Uzel comments: "We are developing more than just a helmet: a new way of understanding urban mobility. We are driven by the vision of protecting motorcyclists' health in an increasingly polluted environment, without compromising safety or design. The support we are receiving from the community and the media is a key boost to fulfilling our dream. I want to thank all the press supporting us in the launch, which is crucial for starting industrial projects of this magnitude."
