In 2009, Kymco reinvented itself, marking what is arguably the most significant milestone in the Taiwanese company's history. Its products experienced a remarkable boost in quality standards, modernization of technology and mechanics, and a Europeanization of designs, elevating it from a regular brand in sales rankings to consistently reaching the podium year after year. The first Kymco model to spearhead this commercial success was the Super Dink in its 125 cc version.

Subsequent models confirmed the brand's transformation, but the Super Dink paved the way, achieving an impressive sales volume of over 65,000 units registered over 14 years of commercialization. Its premium GT qualities, offering high comfort for two people, ample storage capacity, and robustness, combined with dynamics and performance perfect for urban or suburban routes. Kymco also added a high quality/price ratio, making it a true bestseller, becoming the best-selling two-wheeled model in Spain in 2010 and 2014.

It disappeared from the catalogue in 2022, and now, as the brand itself has informed in an internal communication to its dealer network, the iconic Super Dink returns. It will be in the second half of this March, maintaining its premium GT essence, with a profound renewal at all levels, but keeping its identity intact.

The exterior design has been completely revamped, now featuring a more athletic and avant-garde bodywork, with finishes in two new colors for the Super Dink family (black – satin/matte finish with piano black embellishments and moldings – and brown – satin finish with matte black embellishments).

The new eighth-liter maxi-scooter maintains its high comfort, with a spacious cabin and a wide two-level seat. It also retains its large load capacity, as two full-face helmets can still be stored under the seat. Storage is completed with two front glove compartments. The equipment is abundant, with a keyless start system, USB connection, and a floating-type color digital instrument panel.

For safety, Kymco now uses the ESS (Emergency Stop Signal) for the first time, a system more common in the automotive world than in motorcycles - and even less so in urban 125 cc scooters: the brake lights flash when the vehicle brakes sharply to warn drivers and prevent rear-end collisions. It also features top-level ABS (Bosch dual-channel) and incorporates traction control (TCS).

Its 125cc 4-valve engine delivers 12.7 HP. The brand emphasizes that it is a cleaner engine as it minimizes both emissions and consumption, promising an exceptional range of over 460 km.

Despite the qualitative leap, mainly in terms of safety, sustainability, and design, Kymco Spain boasts of launching it on the market at the same price it had three years ago, 4,249 euros, below its direct competitors, the Honda Forza 125 at 4,999 euros, and the Yamaha XMax 125 starting at 5,499 euros, both on promotion. The brand also announces that the 350 cc version will arrive at the end of May.
