The Hércules squad breathed a sigh of relief following the MRI scan undergone by defender Alberto Retuerta. The knee injury sustained against Castilla initially raised significant concerns, but the diagnosis has been reassuring: Retu has only suffered a mild sprain. He began the week training separately from the main group and is likely to miss Saturday's match against Ceuta as a precaution. However, he is expected to return for the anticipated clash against Ibiza at Rico Pérez.

Retu injured his knee after landing awkwardly from a jump early in the second half against Real Madrid's reserve team. Despite initial fears, he continued playing briefly before requesting a substitution. Initial tests ruled out ligament damage, and subsequent MRI scans confirmed the positive outlook. Abraham del Moral, who replaced Retu during the match against Castilla, is now likely to start. This decision further highlights coach Rubén Torrecilla's limited confidence in Joel Arumí, who joined from Andorra in January to compete with Retu and allow Del Moral to move into central defence alongside Josema, Montoro, and Sotillos.

Medical tests have also ruled out a significant muscle injury for Samu Vázquez, who requested substitution against Castilla due to a muscle overload that turned out to be minor. Torrecilla hopes the defender from Albacete will be available for the challenging trip to Ceuta, one of the toughest away matches remaining this season. Ceuta currently holds a seven-point advantage over Hércules and remains firmly in contention for automatic promotion.

The worst news from the medical room came over the weekend concerning Roger Colomina, who will miss at least the next two matches due to a muscle tear sustained against Alcoyano. The Catalan midfielder is a key figure in Torrecilla's plans, and his absence will see Mangada, Artiles, and Mario García—who has yet to meet expectations—share the playing time.

Hércules faces a particularly challenging run of fixtures, with upcoming matches against promotion contenders Ceuta, Ibiza, and Antequera. Torrecilla's team remains in contention, currently two points away from the playoff spots and eight points clear of relegation, with ten matches left to play.
