Research Awards by José María Soler Foundation Close Submission Deadline on May 15

The call for the José María Soler 2025 Research and Research Initiation Awards will close its submission deadline for entries in various categories on May 15, as outlined in this edition's rules. In these final days before the submission period ends, the director of the José María Soler Foundation, Dolores Fenor, has encouraged all researchers or aspiring researchers to submit their studies.

"The awards from the José María Soler Foundation hold significant prestige, both for seasoned researchers and for younger individuals embarking on this journey from their school years. Therefore, the awards present a great opportunity to join the ranks of authors and researchers recognised in previous editions," commented the Foundation's director.

The Research Award is divided into two categories: the Archaeological category, for works related to the territory encompassing the Villena area and, generally, the Mediterranean basin of the Iberian Peninsula; and the Scientific and Humanistic category, linked to research broadly associated with Villena and its surrounding areas.

For the Research Initiation Awards, three categories are established based on the educational level of the authors. The first category allows participation from students in the 1st and 2nd years of ESO; the second, for students in the 3rd and 4th years of ESO and Intermediate Vocational Training Cycles. The third category is for Baccalaureate students and those in Advanced Vocational Training Cycles.

Once the submission deadline has passed, the various juries for this edition have until July 1 to announce the decisions awarding the respective prizes in each category. As is tradition, the awards will be presented at the gala on December 1, a date that commemorates the discovery of the Villena Treasure in 1963.
