The firefighters of the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium have rescued a man about 60 years old who had an accident in the Almadrava cove of Benidorm.

The incident occurred this Thursday, September 26, when, around 7:30 p.m., the firefighters received a notice alerting them to the accident. It was the lifeguard technicians from the Benidorm Beach Lifeguard Service who provided initial assistance to the injured citizen.

Next, the Consortium officials stabilized the injured man inside a special high mountain rescue stretcher and carried him along a path to a passable area where a Basic Life Support (BLS) unit was waiting for him.

For the rescue operations, the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium mobilized a command unit (UMJ), a multi-rescue van (FSV) with a sergeant and a corporal; and three firefighters from the Benidorm station. They also had the support of the Local Police of the tourist capital of the Costa Blanca.
