On Monday, December 2, the Provincial Court of Alicante will try a man accused of raping his former partner and threatening her with death. The incident occurred on the night of November 12, 2021, at the victim's home in Torrevieja.

According to the public prosecution, the defendant went to his ex-girlfriend's house and, while grabbing her by the neck, told her that if he found out she reported him again, he would return and kill her. He then took her by the arm, led her to the bedroom, and sexually assaulted her without her consent.

For these actions, the prosecution is provisionally seeking a 14-year prison sentence for him for threats and sexual assault. The trial is set to take place in the First Section at 9:30 a.m.

More trials

On the same Monday, but in the Seventh Section, an accountant from a Valencia-based company with headquarters in Elche will stand trial for embezzlement, for which the Public Prosecutor's Office is seeking a two-year prison sentence. The indictment details that between 2010 and 2012, the woman sold merchandise from the company she worked for and kept the proceeds, amounting to over 12,200 euros.

Another trial taking place in the Alicante court in the first week of December involves an Alicante lawyer, for whom the Public Prosecutor is seeking a two-year prison sentence for embezzlement. According to the prosecution, the defendant borrowed a client's car under the pretext of a trip to Seville for a trial, sold it, and kept the proceeds.

The defendant obtained the vehicle on August 24, 2021. From the 26th, the victim began asking the accused, who was his lawyer, about the car. According to the public prosecution, the lawyer sold the car days later.
