Renault Group's factory in Palencia has achieved a new manufacturing milestone with the production of its 8,000,000th unit. The model is a Renault Rafale E-Tech 4x4 300CV plug-in hybrid, Atelier Alpine version, in satin summit blue.
The car offers up to 1,000 km of total range for long journeys and boasts a market-leading WLTP consumption rate even without battery charge: 0.5 l/100 km in mixed cycle and 5.8 l/100 km with a depleted battery.
In daily use, the Renault Rafale E-Tech 4x4 300 CV plug-in hybrid operates as a fully electric vehicle with a range of up to 105 kilometres, or in hybrid mode, leveraging the renowned efficiency of E-Tech full hybrid technology.
This unit exemplifies Renault's strong commitment to the C and D segments and the declared ambition of Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault Group, to position Renault's product range in the upper segments of the market.
According to José Martín Vega, Director of the Iberia Vehicle Industrial Hub and Director of the Palencia Factory, "the Palencia Factory has become a benchmark, producing vehicles with a unique technological and mechanical arsenal. This transformation, crucial in a rapidly changing automotive industry, has been made possible thanks to the dedication and excellence of all the employees at the Palencia Factory, whom I congratulate as they witness the production of a historic unit today."
For over 45 years, the Palencia Factory has exported iconic models for Renault, from the first R-12 in 1978 to the modern Austral, Espace, and Rafale, for which the factory has been transformed with the new CMF-CD Alliance platform, over 400 new robots totalling 1,320 in the welding area, among others.
With the Renaulution Plan, the Palencia Factory produces the core of the Group's hybrid range, entering the D segment for the first time in its history, initially with the New Espace and now continuing with the brand's new flagship: the New Rafale.
