Renault Group reported a turnover of €11.675 billion in the first quarter of 2025, marking a slight decline of 0.3% compared to the €11.707 billion recorded between January and March 2024.
The automotive turnover reached €10.128 billion, showing a 3.0% decrease compared to the first quarter of 2024. This includes a negative exchange rate effect of -0.8 points (-€85 million), mainly due to the devaluation of the Brazilian Real, Argentine Peso, and Turkish Lira, as explained by the brand.
Renault Group has confirmed its financial outlook for 2025, with an operating margin exceeding 7% and a free cash flow of approximately €2 billion.
More positive are the global sales results, which rose to 564,980 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025, representing an increase of nearly 3% compared to the first quarter of 2024.
In Europe, the group's sales grew by 2.8%, with 402,413 cars sold (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles). Renault Group ranks third in passenger car and light commercial vehicle deliveries in the Old Continent.
Globally, the French group's sales increased by 11.6% with 162,567 deliveries. The brand recorded strong growth of 21.1% in Latin America, particularly in Argentina (89.3%), Colombia (40.2%), and Brazil (11.2%).
The group's main market was France, with 132,712 units sold between January and March 2025. In Italy, it achieved 55,126 sales, and its third-best market was Spain with 42,592 units, showing a 38.2% year-on-year increase.
Regarding electrification, 44.2% of its sales were electrified vehicles—of which 13.2% were electric vehicles—15.3 percentage points more than in the first quarter of 2024.
As for the group's different brands, Renault recorded 389,016 deliveries with a growth of 6.5% compared to the initial quarter of 2024. In Europe, it grew by 3.8%, with 246,036 vehicles sold, with passenger cars increasing by 17.7%, against a market decline of 0.5%.
"This success is attributed to the Renault 5 E-Tech electric, hybrid vehicles, and continuous growth in the C-segment and above," the brand states.
In fact, Renault's electrified vehicles represented 61.2% of its sales in Europe, an increase of 15 points compared to the first quarter of 2024. Hybrid sales grew by 46.1%, representing 44.1% of the total sales of the group's leading brand, while electric vehicle sales grew by 87.9%, representing a mix of 17.1%.
Dacia achieved a sales growth of 0.6% in Europe compared to the first quarter of 2024, with 154,378 registrations. During this period, the Sandero remained the best-selling vehicle in Europe across all channels, with 67,616 units sold. Duster sales grew by 11.8% with 49,941 registrations. Duster continues to be the best-selling SUV to private customers in Europe.
Alpine recorded 2,088 sales in the January-March 2025 period (+96.4% compared to the first quarter of 2024) thanks to its A290 model, which led the premium urban electric car segment in France.
In 2025, Renault plans to launch up to seven new vehicles, including the Renault 4 E-Tech electric, the Dacia Bigster, and Alpine A390 for Europe, and a C-SUV for the international market, along with two redesigns of the Renault Austral and Renault Espace. Additionally, Renault will introduce Grand Koleos and Kardian in new geographies.
