The Renault 4 Transforms into a Mobile Command Centre for Firefighters and Emergency Services

In response to the increasing intensity and frequency of emergencies, ranging from natural disasters like DANA to urban accidents and medical assistance, Software République unveiled its ambitious project 'vision 4rescue' today at Viva Technology 2025.

This is a technological ecosystem comprising nearly 20 interconnected solutions, designed to eliminate barriers between various emergency service tools, thereby enabling faster and more coordinated interventions.

At the heart of this innovative system is the Renault 4 E-Tech electric vehicle, adapted to function as a mobile command centre near operational sites. Its selection underscores Renault Group and Software République's commitment to sustainable mobility and the application of advanced technologies for critical functions.

'vision 4rescue' is the result of collaboration between Software République (a group formed by Atos, Dassault Systèmes, JCDecaux, Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics, and Thales), three fire brigade units, and four additional technology partners (Parrot, HawAI.tech, Peripheral, and Green Communications). Together, they have created a network aiming at several objectives.

Firstly, to better anticipate. With long and short-range drones (Thales and Parrot) equipped with cameras and integrated communications, offering precise surveillance and real-time data analysis.

Improving operations through the deployment of equipment tailored to needs, such as the aforementioned Renault 4 E-Tech electric vehicle, and sensors with electronic components (STMicroelectronics) in urban and rural environments to detect anomalies.

And thirdly, to communicate better: Through connected urban furniture (JCDecaux) as a direct interface with the population, and hybrid networks and innovative devices from Orange that ensure connectivity even in the absence of traditional infrastructures.

The Renault 4 E-Tech electric vehicle is not just a support vehicle but a fundamental pillar in the strategy of interconnecting teams. Its capability to serve as a mobile command centre allows rescue teams to efficiently gather and distribute vital information, integrating data from drones, sensors, and other tools.

This ecosystem incorporates modelling, simulation, and detection solutions from Dassault Systèmes and Thales, allowing for risk scenario simulations and planning optimisation.

Additionally, it features crisis management tools from Atos and tactical communication solutions (Atos and Orange) that ensure real-time information transmission, even under stress conditions, and allow for alerts to be sent to populations in risk areas.

Software République presents 'vision 4rescue' demonstrating its application in specific cases such as forest fires, floods, and urban rescue operations. This initiative underscores the need for new approaches in risk management and the adaptation of technologies to address growing challenges such as population ageing and urbanisation.
