Renfe strengthens the AVE service on the Madrid-Alicante line with over 1,400 additional seats to attend the Hogueras de San Juan. The company has enhanced the AVE service on the Madrid-Alicante line with 4 trains in double composition during the most demanded days: Thursday 19th, Friday 20th, Saturday 21st, and Sunday 22nd of June. This represents an increase of more than 1,400 seats over those four days.

Daily, 28 Renfe High-Speed trains operate between Madrid and Alicante, 14 in each direction, with a fleet composed of AVE, Avlo, and Alvia trains, which not only link the Alicante capital with the Spanish capital but also connect it with the Region of Murcia, Castilla y León, Cantabria, Galicia, and Asturias. Additionally, Alicante is connected via Long Distance trains, Euromed, and Intercity, with Valencia, Castellón, and Catalonia.

The daily operation of all Renfe trains (both passenger and freight) prevents the emission of 4.1 million tonnes of CO2 each year and results in an energy saving equivalent to more than 1.1 million tonnes of oil.

Renfe holds the 'Carbon Neutral' certification awarded by Aenor for all our electric trains, both passenger and freight, highlighting the commitment to sustainability and the goal of being more efficient in the use of traction electric energy through efficient driving plans and the use of regenerative braking.
