The Sant Joan d'Alacant Film Festival, promoted by the Culture Department of the Sant Joan Town Hall, has opened the registration period for short films wishing to participate in its 25th edition, which will be held from March 23 to 29, 2025. Short film creators interested in participating in the festival can now submit their applications through the various registration platforms, as the deadline is open from this Monday, November 4, until December 19, 2024.
The complete participation rules can be found on the Festival's website www.santjoanfestivaldecine.es, along with the link to the registration platforms, and on the website www.santjoandalacant.es. The registration platforms are Movibeta, Clickforfestivals, and Festhome (which is the only one of the three platforms where international productions with an environmental theme can be registered).
The awards for which participants can compete, in the different categories, are still led, in the Official Section, by the Sant Joan d'Alacant Gold Ficus for Best National Work, with a prize of 2,000 euros. Additionally, the 'Popcorn' Ficus, with a prize of 500 euros, is maintained, for which participants in the Local Short Film Section can compete, for teams with at least 50% of personnel residing or schooled in Sant Joan, or with at least 50% of their scenes shot in the municipality.
The platforms will close on December 19, 2024, leaving open only the reception of shorts in the local category, which must be submitted via viewing link and requirement justification, through the email fcsjmateriales@gmail.com.
