Alicante progresses in improving the surroundings of La Albufereta beach. The Local Government Board of Alicante City Council has just awarded the project for cladding and anchoring the beach wall to the company Mediterráneo de Obras y Asfaltos for 289,882 euros, with an execution period of five months. This project was put out to tender in mid-October with a base budget of 381,174 euros, and the offers from five companies were evaluated by the technicians.
The work will prevent collapses in the wall and simultaneously improve the beach's image. The action is located on Sol Naciente Street and Condomina Avenue. On one hand, the walls of the stairs providing access to the beach will be clad, and on the other, the existing cladding of the rest of the wall will be mechanically anchored or fixed to prevent new collapses.

The project has been drafted by the technicians of the Infrastructure Department and involves removing the natural stone sheets that currently make up the vertical walls, which will be replaced by other machined natural stone plates, with a polished finish and various dimensions, with reinforced anchoring.
In addition to securing the wall of La Albufereta beach, the aim is also to improve its aesthetic image. The Infrastructure and Maintenance area has already carried out various repairs on this wall, which is highly exposed during storms, as explained by the Alicante City Council.
