Reckless chase through streets and neighbourhoods between the Alicante towns of Rojales and Guardamar del Segura. Eventually, police from both towns managed to stop the driver after a pursuit that lasted nearly 10 kilometres through streets and several roads in the first municipality, initiated after receiving local reports of a vehicle speeding at "high velocity".
The driver is considered a suspected perpetrator of serious disobedience to law enforcement officers and road safety offences, according to a statement from the Rojales Town Hall.
The events occurred when two patrols were monitoring traffic on one of the main avenues entering the Ciudad Quesada urbanisation in Rojales, after receiving several local reports warning of vehicles speeding. During this patrol, officers heard a high-powered car "revving loudly".
According to residents, some even had to move out of its path to avoid harm. Officers initiated a pursuit to catch up with the car, risking their own safety, according to the council.
The vehicle sped through the Ciudad Quesada urbanisation, then travelled along the CV-905, AP-7, and CV-91, ignoring "at all times" the officers' signals with the police lights and sirens.
Additionally, it overtook several vehicles on both sides, violating all traffic regulations. The chase concluded thanks to the "swift operation" mobilised at the entrance to Guardamar del Segura. In collaboration with the local police, a traffic funnel was created to immobilise the vehicle.
Following the chases, the driver was arrested, and the vehicle was seized and placed at the court's disposal. The driver was detained, and proceedings were forwarded to the court.
